Edward H. Thorndike, University of Rochester, 1999 W.H.K. Panofsky Prize in Experimental Particle Physics Winner

There are plans to study the bottom quark at ALL particle physics accerator laboratories, in the U.S. and abroad. Why this intense interest? In this talk I'll review the early days of the field, describe some recent results, and make some conjectures about the future.

Colloquium starts at 16:00 in the Helen L. Deroy Auditorium, Rm 146, 5203 Cass and lasts about 1 hour including questions. Refreshments are served at 15:30 in the Lounge at the entrance of the Auditorium.
