A Epoxy Coating

A protective epoxy coating will be applied to the external exposed Beryllium surfaces of the Assembly (Cornell drawing 6058-025 REV A) by the vendor. The internal cooling channels will also be coated on this beam pipe. Cornell reserves the right to later decide not to coat these channels. The CLEO II.V vertex beam pipe used BR127, an epoxy loaded with strontium chromate made by Cytek, which is our present choice, but other options are being explored and suggestions are welcome. In particular it would be beneficial to have a coating with an allowable use temperature of 150°C.
